That is a superb tummy warming dish for after a days rambling! I might add green and red lentils and pearl barley instead of the corn

Lovely idea for gammon/ham – I usually just do the ham on it’s own in the slow cooker, but love the idea of this complete meal

Gammon joints were made for slow cooking and I love the aroma that says there will be a delicious hot meal ready when you need it to be. I also think a cold ham casserole is just as wonderful if there were any leftovers that need finishing up.

Looks like a real good hearty meal. A lot of slow cooker one pot stews put me off because they’re just so… brown but the colour of this is lovely and bright.

I have always loved gammon cooked in slow cooker as it really does melt in the mouth – am going to try your recipe – love the idea of apple too
