Mini Mummy Pizzas

When my son was little (he’s nearly 21!) he loved it when we made simple recipes together, and these mini mummy pizzas are one of those things that we would make. Like most kids, he couldn’t get enough of eating cheese strings, and pizza – so combine them both to make this easy Halloween snack!

They are made using sandwich rolls, as they are the perfect size for the cheese strings that form the bandage wrappings of the mummy. You could also use English muffins, or why not cut circles out of tortilla wraps or pita bread using a round cookie cutter, to switch things up.

These mummy pizzas have a pepperoni layer, but if your kids don’t like pepperoni, just leave that out. If you don’t want to use candy eyes, cut slices from pitted olives to create eyes instead. (But I think the candy eyes are more fun!)

This recipe is so simple! Start by cutting the rolls in half and placing them on a baking sheet. Brush the rolls with some melted butter and sprinkle with a little garlic powder. Pop in the oven to toast, and meanwhile, pull the string cheese apart.

Take the toasted pizza bases out from the oven and spread some sauce on top, followed by pepperoni, and finally the cheese string “bandages”. Pop back in the oven for the cheese to melt. Serve immediately with candy eyeballs on top!
