Before I start reminiscing of the days on The Purple Pumpkin Blog where I wrote a lot of party planning posts, let me first off share these free printable subway art posters for the Queen’s 90th birthday.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a long time – that means years, rather than months – you may remember the Diamond Jubilee Lunch Party I threw back in 2012, to celebrate the 60 years that Queen Elizabeth II has been, well, Queen! As a Brit, I value our Royal Family as a symbol of Britain, and for me, anything is an excuse to throw a party. The Queen’s Official Birthday is June 11th, and there are plenty of celebratory things going on, including a big lunch street party along The Mall outside Buckingham Palace, for 10,000 guests, on Sunday 12th June.
I really would like to throw a little party on this day – since the street party will be in the form of a picnic, I’m thinking of doing something similar. I just hope the weather is nicer than it was on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, when my planned garden party had to be moved inside!
Naturally, I wanted to create some of my own printables to use, and of course, I want to be able to share them with you guys too. First up are these free printable subway art posters. There are 8 different colours to download and print – one additional one is the Union Jack. If they look familiar, it’s because they are – I used the same design for the Diamond Jubilee.

Now back to the reminiscing! 2012 was a particularly busy year, where I threw the following parties:
- My Husband’s 40th Birthday Party
- A [small] Halloween Party
- Late Summer Barbecue
- A Bridal Brunch
- Cocktails & Dreams Hen Party
- Pink Flavoured Baby Shower
- Moroccan Barbecue
- London 2012 Olympics Party
- Eurovision Song Content Party
- Diamond Jubilee Lunch Party
- St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Party
- Nintendo Super Mario Birthday Party
- Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year Dinner Party
- New Years Eve Party
2012 was a good year! I had so much fun organising all of those parties, and I really do miss it. I can’t even remember the last time I threw a proper party, and it makes me a little bit sad. Somewhere along the way I lost my party planning mojo, which I won’t go into here, but I do hope I can start throwing them again.
I really want to be able to do some sort of shindig for summer, as well as for the Rio 2016 Olympics, and there is a little matter of my 40th birthday too. I am going on holiday for that, but I do want a little party to celebrate!
The document(s) is (are) a PDF and can be opened with Adobe Reader which is free to use.
Printables created by The Purple Pumpkin Blog are for personal use only and not for resale. If you wish to link to, pin or share my printables, you are welcome to do so as long as a link back to the blog post is shown and the watermarks are kept intact. Colours may vary slightly on printing due to different screen and printer settings. If you use any of my printables it would be awesome to know about it!
