I turned 40 this past week, and celebrated it at my favourite place on earth – Walt Disney World! I was in Magic Kingdom with my husband, brother, and his fiance. My son didn’t come on holiday with us this year (I missed him so much!) so he wasn’t there, and I wish my other siblings had been able to come out too – it would have been even more awesome. Today’s photo is of the surprise birthday cake that Steve had organised for me at the end of my birthday lunch at Crystal Palace with Pooh & Pals – I even received a birthday card from the cuddly critters!
I wrote this on my Facebook the day after my birthday, which pretty much sums everything up about the day:
Best 40th birthday ever!
I laughed, I cried (tears of joy!), I laughed some more.
I made a wish when I blew out my birthday candle after having lunch with Pooh and pals. I screamed on Splash Mountain, and waved to the characters during Festival of Fantasy. I cried when Minnie saw my birthday badge, blew a kiss and made a heart shape with her hands – I may be 40, and getting older but I’ll never grow up!!
I sung along with with Celebrate The Magic and Wishes, oohed and aahed at the fireworks and smiled as the Main Street Electrical Parade rolled past with its twinkling lights.
My only wish would have been to have my boy, my two sisters and the rest of my family with me today… But I’m so thankful for the magical birthday I’ve had in the most magical place on earth! 💫😍

I enjoyed Project 365 – taking a photo a day – for 5 years : 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015, and decided to take a break in 2016. I couldn’t give up on a photography project completely, so I’ve decided to partake in Project 52 – a photo a week for one year.
