I took my new camera out on it’s first proper outing this week – out in a local county park – nature photography is up there as my favourite type of photography. I switched between using my first DLSR in automatic mode, and aperture mode, to see what was what. I know I should read the manual, and follow the tutorials, which I will do at some point, but for now I was just experimenting. Because the lens is 18-55mm, I did miss having a superzoom like I’m used to, but I’ve just purchased my first telephoto lens which I’ll pick up over the weekend. Having a new camera has re-ignited my photography spark, which was definitely waning towards the end of 2015 – it’s why I cut back to a Project 52, instead of Project 365.

I enjoyed Project 365 – taking a photo a day – for 5 years : 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015, and decided to take a break in 2016. I couldn’t give up on a photography project completely, so I’ve decided to partake in Project 52 – a photo a week for one year.
