The flowers that my son gave to me for Mother’s Day are sadly, on their way out – but before I threw them in the bin, I took some of the petals to make this arrangement. The cluster of petals top left, and bottom left are from tulips, bottom right is a poppy, and top right is a hyacinth. I’m not sure what the purple tipped petals are on the bottom row – they were a weird flower that were almost dry when I received the bouquet in the first place! And the little pink clusters are from a flower that I had in a bouquet a few weeks ago, and share a picture of during my month of flowers in March.
This flatlay style has been a popular trend in the Instagram world for a long while now, so I’ve combined that with another trend I’ve seen of organising things neatly (although mine is a bit rough around the edges!) to produce this shot today. It’s a style/theme I’ll be continuing throughout the month of April. I’m sure I’ve got little collections of items that I can showcase!
I’ve been taking part in Project 365 – a photo a day for one year, since 2011. I took a break in 2016, but couldn’t leave the photography project behind completely, and so did Project 52 – a photo a week for one year. I decided at the very last moment, that I would come back to Project 365 for 2017, because I have missed it more than I realised! The project, over the years, has not only helped to improve my photography, but it also became an daily photo diary. I love looking back and remembering the days of the year(s) gone by, and that is one of the biggest things I missed at the end of 2016,
I have quite the archive of photos on my blog, which you can take a peek at below.
