2017 is all about starting over for me. I’ve let myself go in so many ways in the past few years, that I need to reclaim myself. I will be working on multiple things in the coming months, but the most important of them all is my health, wellbeing and fitness. I want to get walking again, so today, Steve and I took ourselves to the local park for a brisk, short walk. And it was very short. My back, legs, and hips were hurting, and I was very breathless by the time we got back to the car. But it’s these first steps I have to take to get me back. As each day passes I’ll be able to do a little bit more, and before I know it, I’ll be walking without pain again. I can’t wait.
As for the photograph, it’s the reflection of the trees above. I didn’t take my Canon with me, so this was done on my iPhone, with a slight curves adjustment in Photoshop. I hope that when I look at this photo at the end of the year, that I’ll be reminded of the struggle of today, and how far I’ve come in a year…
I’ve been taking part in Project 365 – a photo a day for one year, since 2011. I took a break in 2016, but couldn’t leave the photography project behind completely, and so did Project 52 – a photo a week for one year. I decided at the very last moment, that I would come back to Project 365 for 2017, because I have missed it more than I realised! The project, over the years, has not only helped to improve my photography, but it also became an daily photo diary. I love looking back and remembering the days of the year(s) gone by, and that is one of the biggest things I missed at the end of 2016,
I have quite the archive of photos on my blog, which you can take a peek at below.
