Not This Time | Pre-Trip Report 2014

Things we won’t be doing!

This feels like it’s a bit of a sad entry into our pre-trip report – the things we won’t be doing – not because we don’t want to, I will add, but because, for us, a 2 week holiday in Orlando seems really short! We’ve been spoiled by 3 weeks on our other two visits!

This year’s trip is focusing on Disney, so that means we are not visiting Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure…which I don’t think is a bad idea, considering the lines I’ve seen for the new Diagon Alley area at Universal Studios!

We are also on the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan which means all our meals are going to be at Disney eateries, and having our breakfast and dinner ADRs booked, we don’t want to worry about being over at Universal and having to rush back to a Disney restaurant.

We are all going to miss some of our favourite rides at the Universal parks, but they’ll be there next year when we revisit (yes, you heard right, a fourth trip is in the pre-pre-planning!)

It also means that SeaWorld is a no for us this year, which is a shame, as we do love the animals and the shows, but since we don’t really do many of the rides, it’s not a hard park for us to skip.

Just looking back through our 2011 photos of our day at Busch, I have to say it does look so awesome and I think I’m going to add it to our list for 2015! Even if it’s just to do the Serengeti Safari again – one of the highlights of our first visit!

There will be no Discovery Cove for us this year – we’ve done it twice now, once with the swim and once without. If the price is right next year, we would consider it, but with us going high season due to exams, it is doubtful.

I think the place we’re going to miss the most is definitely Aquatica – we LOVE this waterpark! Especially Roa Rapids which we can go around and around on all day long!

And finally, the main thing we won’t be doing this year is dining off site! It means none of our favourites… Bahama Breeze, Sonny’s Real Pit BBQ, Chilis… I hope I can get my coconut shrimp fix from somewhere on Disney property
