Paddington Bear is heading back to the big screen on November 10th, and to celebrate the release of Paddington 2, University Games has created a range of exciting new fun filled Paddington themed games and activities to enjoy!

For almost 60 years, British-born writer Michael Bond has been delighting children and families all over the world with his stories about Paddington, the bear from Darkest Peru famous for his love of marmalade. Paddington is popular with both children and adults who feel affectionate and warm towards him and the charm and humour of the Paddington stories is the key to their enduring popularity. 2018 marks the 60th Anniversary of the first book, A Bear Called Paddington, published by HarperCollins in 1958. I was sent these two games to review, as always opinions are my own.

Paddington™ Bear Games

Paddington™ Spot The Difference.

Follow the adventures of this lovable bear in Paddington™ Spot The Difference. Players can follow follow the adventures of Paddington in two seemingly identical images! With over 80 different spot the difference scenes, you can play solo, or with an opponent. See if you can beat them to find the infamous pot of marmalade! With dry erase markers and easy-wipe cards, the fun is never ending with this exciting Paddington twist on a children’s classic!

The quality of the cards is fab – they’re not too flimsy so will hold up well to being used over and over again. The cards are double sided and with 80 different scenes, it’ll take a while to go through them all! And it shouldn’t be too easy to remember the locations of all the differences, so the game has longevity too. I like that the cards are suitable for dry erase markers which are supplied in the box with a little eraser at the top to remove the pen when finished.

Paddington™ Spot The Difference is a fun little game that you can start playing out of the box without the need for complicated instructions and rules. Everyone knows how to play this sort of game, and it would be fun to put your own twist on things like finding the differences against the clock; or completing several cards within 2 minutes.

RRP: £7.99, available from John Lewis

Paddington™ Colour On

Get creative with Paddington™ Colour On, for hours of colouring and activity fun with everyone’s favourite bear! With three metres of colouring scenes and activities, children of all ages can join Paddington on his adventures! Simply turn the easy-twist dial to reveal a new activity or colouring scene, and then twist it back when it’s time to pack away.

Never mind the kids, I want to colour this in! As well as scenes to colour (pencils in my photo for demonstration, not included with the product) there are also other fun activities like mazes, and spot the difference. I love how you can roll out a section to colour in, and then roll it back up to be stored safely inside the box. There is a bit of a knack to rolling it back up, so younger children might need help to do that. With 3 metres worth of activities, it’ll be a while before the kids are bored!
