…continued from part 1…

It’s been a long time since I had a toddler (my son is nearly 16!) that I forgot how much they need persuading to do certain things! Once she saw the play area just outside the bar/restaurant/arcades complex, she decided that she simply must go on the swings and play golf! All the entertainment is included with your accommodation, so we just had to show our passes to collect some golf clubs and balls to play on the mini golf course. The play area was big and had lots to keep children occupied.

We ordered some food at the bar, which took quite a while to come out to us, but was great value for money and tasty too. To get to the bar area you walk through the arcades, which Sephy wasn’t too fond of – she dislikes loud noises, but after a while, she calmed down and was happy to eat some chips.

Liam wanted to have a game of pool, so whilst he and Steve did that, I went and played on the arcades, and spent a little bit too much on trying to win a giant Peppa Pig from one of those claw machines. Luck was not on my side! I also love the 2p machines, and sunk a few tuppences into those to try and win a keyring!

We then went back to our caravan for an afternoon cuppa, when the sun really started to shine again, so it was back down to the beach before Sephy’s bedtime!

It was so warm that she kicked off her wellie boots and socks and was able to run around bare foot. We bought a Frisbee in the park shop for a few quid, and Steve got to digging a hole in the sand which Sephy marvelled at, and the proceeded to drop stones into, counting them as she did. I was most impressed that at not even 2 yet she can quite confidently count up to 20… well, almost! Eight, nine, ten, eleven…eight, nine, ten, eleven (remind her about twelve) thirteen, fourteen… it was so sweet, I had to take a video of her counting!

More sandcastle building – we bought some flags from the park shop too for 25p – bargain!

Another beach forage for treasures for me, and it was soon late afternoon/early evening and time for Sephy to have some dinner and get into bed. The sea air wiped us adults out, so it completely zonked her!!

With Sephy tucked up in bed, we decided to get a takeaway for dinner from a local Indian restaurant, and then had a game of monopoly which we’d brought with us. There is entertainment in the complex in the evenings, but we were quite happy being property moguls in our caravan!

A thoroughly enjoyable day one was had by us all – it was nice to not really do anything, other than just chill out on the beach and have fun day together. Day two of our weekend away will be following very soon!

Disclosure: I received a weekend break in a Park Resorts Gold+ Caravan. All thoughts are my own honest opinions.
