Long time readers of my blog will know that we love going on holiday to Orlando, Florida. It’s one of the places in the world that I am truly at my happiest! I think it’s because I can forget all the troubles of daily life, be in a completely magical place and of course, lots and lots of hot sunshine!
FloridaTix are running a UK Blogger competition and I thought I would enter too! I have to answer the questions set (find my answers below!)
1. Which Hogwarts house would you be sorted into?
It has to be Gryffindor! They’re the good guys, they house students like Ron, Hermione and of course Harry Potter, and I totally would want to be in their gang!
2. Name a Disney character you’d like to have dinner with.
We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with lots of Disney character’s over the years when we’ve been to Walt Disney World.
However, I wouldn’t mind a cosy dinner with Captain Jack Sparrow!! He’s a pirate, we could drink rum and he’s hot, ’nuff said!!
3. Which Marvel superhero power would you choose?
It would have to be Storm’s power to change the weather. Although I would be changing it all the time to make it hot and sunny, and not like the name suggests and make storms all the time! I would also have to have Spider Man’s powers, just so I could say “my spidey sense is tingling”!!
4. If you could bring back one dinosaur breed from Jurassic Park, which would it be?
Something friendly, like a big, old, slow diplodocus! A dinosaur that could eat people would be a no-no…definitely NOT a t-rex!
5. You can ride a dragon at the Triwizard Tournament and visit the Owlery at The Wizarding
World of Harry Potter, but where else would you go on a school trip to Hogsmeade?
Honeydukes! A shop full of sweets and candy – and magical ones at that. Definitely a place to visit. Top of my list would be a chocolate frog and some Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans (although, I wouldn’t want to eat an ear wax flavour one!) I would also need to make sure I buy some Pumpkin Juice – it’s my favourite ;)
6. A scene in any Disney, Harry Potter or Marvel movie you wish you could experience?
I love the whole “Let It Go” scene in Frozen. I’m not gonna lie, I would totally love to have Elsa’s powers, just so I could build my own fabulous ice castle, magic up a pretty icy blue dress and totally have the most awesome singing voice!
7. Name one item from any Harry Potter, Disney or Marvel movie would you want for Christmas.
Can I pick from a Universal movie instead? Can I have a Minion? PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE!
Oooh, oooh! I know! I want the Genie in the Lamp! Then I can wish for whatever I want!
8. Name one unforgettable experience/moment you’ve had at the Orlando Parks. (if you haven’t been just tell us which park you’d like to go to!)
There are been so many, I really couldn’t pick just one! All our magical moments are littered throughout my trip reports. From meeting the characters (our favourites are Chip ‘n’ Dale!) to feeding the giraffes at Busch Gardens, to swimming with a dolphin at Discovery Cove to visiting Kennedy Space Centre and seeing the shuttle Atlantis, to watching Wishes fireworks shooting into the sky to stepping out of the airport into the Orlando heat!
But, oh, if I have to pick just one, it really has to be on our most recent holiday to Orlando and our first full day. We went to Magic Kingdom for a breakfast with Pooh and Pals at The Crystal Palace. Our reservation was early, so we were able to go into the park before the rest of the crowds. We had our photo taken on an empty Main Street USA, we saw Cinderella Castle without hoards of people around it (and I got to take my perfect photo, below!), and, we heard the countdown to the opening of the park and the magical words “Welcome to the Magic Kingdom” from inside the park. I burst into tears of happiness! It might have been our third trip to the magic, but it was like the very first time all over again – I love that memory ♥
Disclosure: This is my entry into the FloridaTix Magical Orlando Tag Competition.
