Fungi Friday – Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex
Home » Photography »Last weekend we went for a walk at Hanningfield Reservoir, Essex. Along the way we managed to spot a few fungi – not many as it’s still quite dry at the moment.
I do actually know what these next few are, they are called Puffball (cute name!) The distinguishing feature of all puffballs is that they do not have an open cap with spore-bearing gills
This one below was growing out of a log that had been shaped to form a bench.
Mushrooms, toadstools, ‘shrooms, fungi…whatever they’re called, I just love finding them when out walking in the forest! It’s like I’ve found a little treasure! Oh, the simple things in life! I have a ‘Shrooms set on Flickr if you’d like to see some of my older photos in this subject.
