The Enchanted Tiki Room is an animatronic musical show, at both Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom and at Disneyland California. It’s a Marmite attraction, in that you either love it or hate it! Me? Well, I love it! It harks back to a time when life was simpler, when entertainment didn’t have to be in your face, and I really love the South Seas inspired musical score, and the animatronic birds are just awesome!
You sit inside a Polynesian ceremonial room, with a menagerie of exotic birds, tropical flowers and Tiki totems. It really is a delight for the eyes and ears, and whilst you can’t help but feel that it is dated, it has that Disney charm that makes it loveable. I can’t wait to watch it again!

As the lights dim, 4 colorful macaws quickly spring to life and begin to sing a series of jubilant island songs. Before long, the chorus of crooning birds is joined by an enchanting cast of over 225 choreographed Audio-Animatronics performers, including bobbing parrots, giggling cockatoos, crooning orchids, drumming Tiki statues and chanting wooden masks.

Just one more thing – we were walking round a boot sale at the weekend and I saw a packet of little parrots on one of the tables – I bought it for 50p as I really liked them…turns out it is a mobile, and I’ve got my own Enchanted Tiki Room now ^_^
