Dinner Shows at Walt Disney World - There are three fantastic ones to choose from - check out what they are and which one is a must see!

If you like entertainment when you are dining, you should try one of the three dinner shows at Walt Disney World! We have seen two of them: Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show and Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. We have yet to see the third, which is Mickey’s Backyard BBQ.

Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show

Celebrate the spirit of aloha with spellbinding dancers, drummers and a show-stopping fire-knife performer. Auntie Wini is hosting a fun-filled luau to say goodbye to one of the local girls who’s headed to the “mainland” for college—and you’re invited! In the open-air theater in Luau Cove, delight in enthralling traditions from Polynesia, including dances from Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, New Zealand and Hawaii.Walt Disney World Website

Luau Cove is located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and we saw this show in 2014. As we were on a Disney Dining Plan, we used 2 credits per person to see the show. If you are paying out of pocket the current prices are $60.99 – $72.99 for ages 10 and over; and $33.99 – $39.99 for ages 3-9. The price depends on which category seating you choose. Price includes tax and gratuity. Prices and show times are subject to change without notice. This show may be cancelled due to severe or inclement weather. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. Please check the Disney website for the most up to date information. We sat on level 2 on the upper floor, directly opposite the stage and had a great view!

Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show - Seating Plan

The food is an all-you-care-to-enjoy tropical feast, like Island pulled pork, BBQ ribs, roasted chicken and a vegetable medley. You can also savor fresh salad with mango-poppyseed vinaigrette, honey-lime slaw and pineapple-coconut bread. Then, polish the meal off by indulging in some warm pineapple bread pudding with caramel sauce! The children’s menu includes mini corn dogs and tater tots, cheese pizza, grilled chicken or mahi-mahi. In addition to soft drinks, lemonade, coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages, Guests 21 years of age and up can enjoy beer and wine with their meals. For an added charge, indulge in a fruity cocktail—like the tropical rum punch served in a hand-carved coconut keepsake! I HAD to have that coconut monkey, so I purchased the [very strong!] cocktail out of pocket. The best part of Spirit of Aloha is the traditional dancers and the fire knife dance was AMAZING! Definitely our favourite part of the whole show.

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue

Join the Pioneer Hall Players for 2 hours of rousing Wild West dancing, singing and zany vaudeville comedy. You never know what to expect when Claire de Lune, Johnny Ringo, Dolly Drew, Six Bits Slocum, Flora Long and Jim Handy hit the stage. But you do know that it’s not going to be dull! Get ready to clap your hands, stomp your feet, sing along and have a good ol’ time at rustic Pioneer Hall in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Walt Disney World Website

We LOVED Hoop-Dee-Doo, and I think we may be going back to see it this year when we stay at Wilderness Lodge. Again, we used 2 credits per person as part of our Disney Dining Plan. If you are paying out of pocket the current prices are $58.99 – $67.99 for ages 10 and over; and $32.99 – $36.99 for ages 3-9. We sat in level 1 on the main floor, right down at the front near the stage, and just behind the piano – again, a great view!

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue Seating Plan

The food is all-you-care-to-enjoy and is good old fashioned American fayre, including buckets of fried chicken and smoked BBQ pork ribs, as well as a tossed green salad, baked beans, fresh-baked cornbread and strawberry shortcake. Unlimited draft beer, wine and sangria are included for Guests 21 years of age and up (proper ID required). Soft drinks are also included. The food at Pioneer Hall was lush – especially the fried chicken and the strawberry shortcake! Hoop-Dee-Doo is very funny, very entertaining, and we loved every minute of it.

Mickey’s Backyard BBQ

Hootin’ Tootin’ Hoedown! Scoot on down to this covered, open-air pavilion for a music-filled hoedown with some favorite Disney Characters. Feast on an all-you-care-to-enjoy BBQ spread to cowboy rope tricks and the rootin’ tootin’ tunes of a live country-western band. Then mosey on over to the dance floor for line dancing led by Disney Friends! Several times throughout the night, Disney Characters mingle with Guests for photos and autographs. Cowpokes may meet: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Chip ‘n Dale. Character appearances and entertainment are subject to change. – Walt Disney World Website

This dinner show is at The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The current prices are $30 – $59.99 per person, depending on age. The price depends on which category seating you choose. This dinner show is 2 credits per person if using a Dinsey Dining Plan. Price includes tax and gratuity. Prices and show times are subject to change without notice. This show may be cancelled due to severe or inclement weather. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. Please check the Disney website for the most up to date information.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ Seating Plan

Feast on barbeque ribs, smoked chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs with all the trimmings, corn on the cob, macaroni and cheese and more. Sate your thirst with lemonade, fruit punch and soft drinks, plus complimentary wine and beer for Guests 21 years of age and up (proper ID required).

We did have this booked as part of our Dine Around Disney 2014 trip, but we cancelled it as it clashed with the Villain’s Unleashed event. Maybe another year!
