Our next stop was the Emporium – the huge store than runs pretty much the whole length of Main Street U.S.A – I wanted a new pair of ears, and I’d had my eye on these American girl ones for a while.

Naturally, with new years bought I had to take a selfie, so Steve and I ventured into Tomorrowland the the infamous “Purple Wall” where Instagram influencers have been flocking to (for some strange reason – why a wall when there is a literal CASTLE to stand in front of!) for photo ops.

To be fair, I did it as a mocking gesture for my friend and one of those silly inside friend jokes. The pics came out nice though – ha ha! – and some of my faves of my husband and me together at Walt Disney World!

Carousel of Progress

While in Tomorrowland we went in to watch Carousel of Progress which is always a great way to cool down in the air-conditioned theater on very hot Florida days! And the show is one of Walt’s legacies and is fun to watch.

And of course, the catchy song which you can’t help but sing along to!

So there’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Shining at the end of every day
There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow
Just a dream away

We continued through the rest of Tomorrowland and into Fantasyland as the time was nearing for our ADR at Be Our Guest. But first, we stopped in Gaston’s Tavern to buy a [souvenir] mug of Le Fou’s Brew!

Gaston’s Tavern is a quick-service location and sells soft drinks, snacks and light bites such as sandwiches and pastries.

I have been wanting to try LeFou’s Brew for years, as I have always heard how good it is, and finally, we got one!

Naturally, we had to buy it in the souvenir stein ($12.99 + tax), and I actually use the mug as a pen holder on my desk!

The delightful and delicious concoction is Frozen Apple Juice with a hint of Toasted Marshmallow and topped with All-Natural Passion Fruit Mango Foam.

You can buy the beverage only for (at the time) $5.79.

Be Our Guest Restaurant

With LeFou’s Brew in hand, we made our way to Be Our Guest (BOG) restaurant, which is located inside Beast’s Castle.. We have never dined at BOG before so this was another new thing for us today!

I love, that even after 7 trips to Walt Disney World we are still able to experience new things!

Be Our Guest debuted in 2012 when Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland expansion was opened. It was also the first location in Magic Kingdom to offer alcoholic beverages.

Be Our Guest is a very popular restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the dining is very unique.

For breakfast and lunch, BOG is a counter-service/quick-service location, BUT, it requires an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR). Trying to snag an ADR for Be Our Guest, is still quite tricky so you have to be on the ball when your time slot opens to book this restaurant.

For dinner, an ADR is also recommended, but the restaurant becomes a traditional table-service location.

But the uniqueness doesn’t end there. For breakfast and lunch you can order your food in advance when booking your ADR or through the My Disney Experience App. Or you can order inside at one of the touch screens.

Your food is then brought out to you, rather than you collecting it yourself and taking it to your table. And it isn’t paper plates and plastic cutlery here – real china plates and silverware is offered – fancy!

There are also 3 different themed dining rooms to choose from – and the (rare) chance to actually meet Beast too!

  • The Grand Ballroom – Go for baroque in this magnificent ballroom with its high, domed ceiling, chandeliers and snow-laced Gothic arches.
  • The West Wing – Dine in the Beast’s mysterious West Wing study—if you dare—and perhaps you’ll even spy his enchanted rose.
  • The Castle Gallery – Get swept up in the romance of Belle’s private library, and inspired by the larger-than-life figures of Belle and Beast dancing.

You can sit where you like during breakfast and lunch – but finding an empty table might be hard. The Grand Ballroom and The West Wing are very popular, and we could only find seating in The Castle Gallery. You are able to take a look in the other rooms though – and make sure you do!

Now, in a covid-world, things may have changed, but this is me telling you about BOG as it was back in 2019. Always check the Walt Disney World website for the most up to date information.

Even with our ADR we had to line up to get inside the castle, but fortunately the area is themed beautifully and there is something to look at, at every turn. From the gargoyles and statues outside, to the gorgeous mosaics and artwork inside, as well as fine collection of armor!

We were handed a menu to take a look at while waiting, so that when we finally reached the touch screens to place our order we would know what we wanted to eat. From checking in at Be Our Guest to sitting down and receiving our food it was about 30 minutes.

I will talk about the food selection after this next set of photos…
