The Four Resorts, Two Festivals 2019 Trip Report Index tells you a bit about the planning of this trip, as well as some info about us – me, Michelle; and my husband, Steve. It also, of course, has the full list of days for the trip.
Day 9: Magic Kingdom
Lunch at Be Our Guest; Check-in: Disney’s Beach Club Villas; Dinner from Beach Club Marketplace
March 3, 2019
Today was the check-out day for us at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and check-in day at Disney’s Beach Club Villas (BCV) – which is the Disney Vacation Club (DVC) part of Disney’s Beach Club Resort (BCR). This will be the third of our four resort stays on this trip and Disney makes it really easy for you to switch resorts.
We checked out from SSR, leaving all of our luggage and bags with them to transfer to BCV for us – leaving us free to head over to Magic Kingdom where we had a date with a certain mouse celebrating his 90th birthday!
We were told that our bags should be at our next resort by about 1pm, and since we not only had the FastPass+ to meet Mickey and Minnie, but also an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) at Be Our Guest, we were in no rush to get to BCR.
With our luggage transfer taken care of, we hopped in the car, and drove to Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center which is where we went through security and bag check, before catching the Monorail over to Magic Kingdom!
We immediately headed for the Main Street USA’s Town Square Theater, which is located to the right as you walk into Magic Kingdom. This is where the Mickey and Minnie in their birthday outfits was taking place.
This location is usually (was?) used for meeting Magician Mickey – and I think that might have been the Mickey that could actually speak to guests! Therefore, there was a lot of decor related to magic and magicians which was very cool.
His outfit was displayed in an open closet which I thought was awesome, and there were magician details everywhere. It’s the little things like this that Disney does so very well!
Meeting Mickey and Minnie Mouse together is a rare treat, and being as this was for Mickey’s 90th birthday (although, to be fair it was also Minnie’s 90th too, that just didn’t seem to be as well publicised and celebrated – boo!) was awesome!
A Disney Photographer is there to take photos for you – either using your camera or using Memory Maker/Disney Photopass. Sadly, I didn’t manage to get a selfie which is super annoying as I have a nice collection of selfie pics with various characters over the years!
After the meet and greet you step into the foyer/lobby area where Cast Members were giving out birthday cards and stickers – but sadly not balloons – I wanted a Mickey birthday balloon!
Back out in the Florida sunshine we caught the end of the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party, and lots of Disney magic here because we just saw Mickey and Minnie inside the theater…!
I love the new version of this parade – the outfits are super cute, especially the polka dot dress the girls wear – I want one! And the everybody put your ears on song (which is actually called “It’s A Good Time”) is so catchy and you’ll be singing it all day!
