The Four Resorts, Two Festivals 2019 Trip Report Index tells you a bit about the planning of this trip, as well as some info about us – me, Michelle; and my husband, Steve. It also, of course, has the full list of days for the trip.
Day 8: Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Land; Dinner from The Artist’s Palette
March 2, 2019
Today is all about Toy Story Land – the new (at the time!) area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We have already ventured into Toy Story Land on a previous day, but it is today’s visit that we were able to snag a FastPass+ time for the rollercoaster, Slinky Dog Dash!
Our time slot wasn’t until midday, so we had a couple of hours to wander around the park after getting there at 10am.
After going through security, my first stop was to buy a new pair of ears that I had spied on our last visit! These UP ears are just the cutest! The ears are sky blue with clouds and the Carls house, with the balloons (little colored pom poms) inside the bow, with a grape soda bottle cap in the center. Adorable!
As we reached the end of Hollywood Boulevard, we could see that the “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” stage show was about to being. We saw this on our last visit, but are huge Star Wars fans that we would stop and watch it every time!
Scenes from all seven movies played on the giant screens, and a whole cast of characters are live on stage. There was smoke and pyrotechnics too! It really was an exciting show to watch.
The show started out with C-3PO and R2-D2 and then continued with Darth Maul, Chewbacca, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren, Stormtrooper with black armour (not sure what these ones are called!), Rey, and BB-8.
The show has now ended (in Jan 2020), and apparently won’t be relocated to Galaxy’s Edge which is a shame as it was pretty cool to watch and awesome for Star Wars fans!
