Day 6: Vero Beach / WDW-40, 2016
Home » Everything Disney »Day 6 of WDW-40, the latest of my Disney Trip Reports, is here! Today is our last full day at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort – tomorrow we head home to Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows in Orlando! Remember when I said that our pool day write up was going to be short? I think this one may be even shorter!
If you haven’t read the pre-trip planning report yet, why not have a quick read now to bring you up to speed about who we are, and why this trip report is called WDW-40! You might also want to start reading from the beginning of the report!

I can tell you that today was the last day that we watched the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean at Vero Beach… We ended up sleeping in tomorrow and missed it – what fools we were! So here are some of the photos that I took this morning.
After our in-room breakfast, which had become a nice little morning ritual for us, we headed down to the beach for the day. We hired a couple of lounge chairs with cushions ($10 each) and an umbrella ($12) for the day (quite pricey really – they could just have them set up for free?) from the rental hut which is on the decking above the beach. Which sounds weird, but it’s the only way I can describe it! The beach level is below the resort level, and there is a ramped walkway leading down to it from the resort. They were ours for the full day, so if we wanted to leave the beach and come back later, we could.
There isn’t much more to say about today to be honest! We chilled out, we waded in the water, I fell over in it when a wave took me by surprise, we laughed as I struggled to get up again like a fool, we picked up seashells…
We made sure to keep ourselves hydrated and topped up with suncream, and grabbed some lunch from Bleachers “On The Go” eating exactly the same as what we had a few days before at the pool. After our time on the beach, we also spent an hour in the pool to cool off, before spending the night with a couple of drinks, and sadly packing up our stuff ready to leave the next day.

And that is it for our few days at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort. We had such a wonderful time – we just relaxed, didn’t do very much, and spent some much needed time recharging our batteries. I’ve said a few times in this report so far that we would love to stay at this resort again. I would actually be inclined to add on extra days, and maybe spend a week here, exploring the local area a lot more.
You do not have to be a Disney Vacation Club Member to stay at Vero Beach, check the Disney website here for room rates and to book (select Beach Destinations). And in case you missed here, here is my resort tour.
