Another showing of Star Wars – A Galaxy Far Far Away was on stage, so we decided to stop and watch that again.
Toy Story Land
Toy Story Land is located behind the old Pixar Place – it felt so strange to be in a completely new area of the park!
As you would expect with Disney, the theming was impeccable, but I can’t help but feel that they squashed everything in as it felt all a bit claustrophobic – or that might have just been the large crowds.
A huge statue of Woody leaning against a Toy Story Land sign greets you as you enter the area.
Buzz Lightyear was doing a meet and greet not too far from the sign which was mildly annoying for a few reasons – taking photos for one, and also for a big line forming to meet him.
However, there was a Disney Photographer with another line so you could take photos under the sign if you wanted.
Not wanting to wait in lines I tried to do some stealthy photos instead!
The photo above is the entrance area – with people stopping to take photos and to do the meet and greet you can see how potentially crowded this can become!
In the near distance you can see the Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster, and to the left (but out of shot) is the new entrance to Toy Story Mania.
The photos below show the new Toy Story Mania entrance – we did FastPass+ so not sure how this intertwines with the old line area.
Just to the right is Midway Games – which is actually just a photo op area in front of the signs. And Woody and Jessie were also doing a meet and greet, which again, I feel caused a bit too much congestion than was necessary.
The premise behind Toy Story Land is that it is Andy’s backyard and he’s set everything up to play with his toys.
If you’ve been to the Toy Story Land in Walt Disney Studios at Disneyland Paris you’ll feel some familiarity with the decor including the string lights hanging everywhere!
The main centerpiece of the land is Slinky Dog Dash which is not only an awesome coaster to ride (we rode on a subsequent visit to the park), but also an awesome coaster to look at!
In the pic above you can see Buzz Lightyear from the entrance meet and greet – and how close stuff is to each other in this land!
The Slinky Dog Dash coaster covers a lot of the land – the walkway to the entrance just over a bridge from this area.
It’s just past this section of the coaster – you can just see a merch kiosk too.
