Day 10: A Star Wars Kinda Day / H&H@TP 2017
Home » Travel » Day 10: A Star Wars Kinda Day / H&H@TP 2017 »We ended up driving back to our home resort – Disney’s Polynesian Village – to drop off the gingerbread treats we had bought earlier, and also to drop off Liam. We had decided to pop to Walmart before going to Hollywood Studios as we needed some supplies, and he didn’t want to come with us.
We visited the new (at the time) Walmart at the bottom end of the 192, and had a mooch around in there, bought what we needed, headed back to Poly to get Liam, and then back out again to Hollywood Studios!
The Christmas tree and decorations at Hollywood Studios were pretty cool! I loved the garlands hanging across the street, and even Gertie the Dinosaur that sits in Echo Lake was decked out for the holidays!
I titled today’s report A Star Wars Kinda Day because that is what we mostly did while at Hollywood Studios! We went on Star Tours, met Chewbacca, BB-8, and saw the March of the First Order. We also saw the models for the (soon to be opening at the time of writing this!) Galaxy’s Edge.
Star Wars Launch Bay is located in the Animation Courtyard. I’m not sure if this is just a temporary thing until Galaxy’s Edge opens, but it is described as an immersive exhibits of costumes, models, concept artwork and actual movie props—as well as authentic replicas created just for Star Wars Launch Bay.
It is where we met Chewbacca, and BB-8. You could also meet Kylo Ren, but we didn’t meet him, mainly because we had lined up for so long for the other two characters!
While lining up to meet the characters there are some Star Wars props for you to look at, which is pretty cool, and the area does all feel very immersive! We can’t wait to be able to visit Galaxy’s Edge when it opens!
