Disney Magic Funnels

This next batch of photos is of Disney’s iconic red funnels (smokestacks) and of the various pools and water slides on the ship.

Of the two funnels, only one is functional – the other is home to Vibe, the teens-only hangout area.

On the back of the funnel and facing towards the family pool is a huge television screen which is appropriately named Funnel Vision! This plays a variety of Disney Movies all day long – in the evening you can even wrap up with a blanket (provided!) to watch a film or two. The showtimes and films can be found in the Navigator App.

On normal sailings, you would hear the ship’s horn blare out “When You Wish Upon A Star” at the end of the Sail Away Party… but no party for us because of the pandemic.

Disney Magic Pools

There are three swimming pools with Goofy’s Family Pool – which is for everyone to use, and kids pool in the AquaLab area. The third is the Quiet Cove Adult Pool which is for adults only. Additionally, there are whirlpools/hot tubs in the family and adults-only sections.

The AquaDunk and Twist ‘n’ Spout are the two water slides onboard.

On the AquaDunk you start at 37 feet up, waiting for the floor to drop beneath your feet at the start of this exhilarating water ride! You plummet 212 feet through a translucent tube that twists and turns (you’ll rocket over the side of the ship on a 20-foot curvature!) to your splashdown! For thrill-seekers only! (Must be 48″ or taller to ride).

The Twist ‘n’ Spout is a double-looping waterslide that twists in one direction, then the other over a distance of nearly 250 feet! (Must be 38″ or taller to ride. Under 16s require adult supervision.)

This slide is located in the AquaLab area which is an area that kiddos are just going to love! It includes a kids pool, a “beach” area with geysers and spraying pop jets, and Donald’s Boiler, where pushing buttons may cause Donald to blow his top, drenching everyone in his path!

For the littlest of cruisers (3 and under), there is Nephews’ Splash Zone with statues of Huey, Dewey, and Louie spouting water in every direction.

We didn’t go into the pools or hot tubs on this trip – too cold for us! But they were always pretty busy – the Brits only need a little ray of sunshine!

Towels are available around the pool area, as well as tables/chairs for dining at and sun loungers (first come, first served).

I will also briefly mention here that there are places to grab food and drinks, but I’ll cover more about them on another day.

However, I do have a photo today of Cove Cafe which is an adults-only coffee shop. The beverages from this shop are not included with your fare, they are an additional charge. However, the snacks you get in here are included in your fare.
