Christmas Day 2011
Home » CELEBRATE » Tablescapes »Phew! I’m nearly caught up with blog posts from Christmas – next year I will blog as I go along, rather than thinking “I’ll get it done in the couple of days between Christmas and New Years”!
For Christmas Day I decided to go with black and purple, two of my favourite colours! Here’s how my table looked for the big day.
I started with a shiny deep purple tablecloth and a black runner down the middle of the table.
My purple chargers made a re-appearance after their début at Halloween.
In the middle of the table went a bowl of pretty purple and silver Christmas ornaments. Probably my favourite ornaments ever!
I wanted to keep the centrepiece nice and simple because I knew the table was going to be loaded up with dishes of food as I was serving family style.
Crockery next…dinner plates and side plates…
Crockery in the normal fashion, next to the plate, and a black napkin with napkin ring on the side plate.
I bought these blown glass photo clips from a pound shop in town. When I saw them I thought they’d make ideal name place holders. So a quick design in PSPX2 and my name place labels were made.
Christmas isn’t complete without some Christmas crackers, so they went next to the napkins, along with a chocolate star favour and another pretty ornament in the form of purple drop crystals.
I then found in my “Christmas Day table decoration box” some other things I’d bought to decorate with. Since I didn’t want these little colourful parcels go to waste, I placed them with the centrepiece.
So with the table all set, it was time to serve my turkey dinner to my family and enjoy our Christmas Day meal together.
