World Photo Day - My Favourite Photographs

If you’ve been following my blog from the very start, you will know that I love photography. As well as pretty much every single photo on my website being taken by myself, I also shared my Project 365 – taking a photo a day – for 5 years : 2011 | 2012 | 2013 | 2014 | 2015.  I decided to take a break in 2016, but I couldn’t give up on a photography project completely, so I’ve decided to partake in Project 52 – a photo a week for one year.

For two years I put together ideas and tips, which you can see below.

Today, according to Twitter, is World Photo Day, and I can’t let that pass me by can I?

An international event held on August 19th that embraces a passion for photography and it’s ability to inspire communities. – World Photo Day

I thought I would share 20 of my favourite photographs that I have taken over the years. It’s a big ask, because I already have so many in my mind that are my favourites! So here they are, in no particular order. For me, photographs hold memories, and that is why I take so many. I always aim to be the best photographer I can be, but my favourites are not always the best that I’ve taken in terms of technical stuff – lighting, composition, sharpness etc.,. I’ve always said that the best camera is the one in your hand, and as I look through years of photos, I realise that, that really is true.

1. My husband forming a heart shape with his hands against the sky.
