August 21st, 2014 …Continued from Part 1…

After breakfast, we decided to go on Maelstrom as we had heard that the ride would be closing down…which at the time of writing this, has now happened to make way for a Frozen themed ride instead…

For some reason, Maelstrom can draw quite a lengthy queue, not sure why! But glad we rode it that one last time for posterity and all that!

We wandered around the gift shop to look at all the troll souvenirs, and the inevitable Frozen merchandise which was pretty much everywhere this trip!

I’m fully aware that this particular day of our trip report is quite sparse on words – it was a day of exploring Epcot World Showcase, and not much to tell, so the photos relay the story for me!

We then went into the Frozen inspired, Norsk Kultur, a collection of Norwegian artefacts inspired the movie. As much as I enjoy the film, I have to say, it felt like it was Frozen EVERYTHING this year! Disney’s blog tells us:

Norsk Kultur, meaning “Norweigan Culture,” will feature items such as: an authentic hand-made bunad, the traditional costume of Norway; A hardanger fiddle and other handmade instruments; Hand-carved artisan furniture; Examples of rosemaling (traditional Norse decorative painting) and more. The collection will also feature a Southern Sami Man’s outfit – in the film, the character of Kristoff represents a blend of both Northern and Southern indigenous Sami culture. Some artifacts on display date back as early as the 1200s. Disney Blogs

I love seeing all the flora and fauna around the World, I can get quite captivated by spotting the different flowers, foliage and wildlife whilst walking around one of the parks!

We moved round to the Mexico Pavilion to go inside the pyramid. I love it in here – for a start you can get out of the heat! But I also love the market place that is set up inside, there are some lovely items for sale (although, many are really expensive!) it doesn’t stop me look and lusting after some of them though!

The line for the Gran Fiesta Tour starring the Three Caballeros was non existent, so we went on that. It’s a boat ride that takes you on a ride to find one of the three caballeros (Donald Duck) who has gone missing. There is a section which is themed very much like it’s a small world, but no where near as terrifying!
