And finally, for my Christmas in July series, my table decor!

It was purple & black again in 2012 as it was in 2011, but I’m not apologising – I love purple ;)

I covered the table with several coverings – a large white tablecloth, followed by a purple one and finally a black table runner. The black mats in the center were to protect everything from the heat of the dishes.

I stuck with mainly white for the crockery…my lovely Jamie Oliver set that we were given as wedding gifts. I broke up the white plates with a black plate for the seafood platter starter (served family style). The cup and saucer were for the chestnut and sage soup that I had made.

As I was so busy last holiday season with my Cook, Craft, Create: December 2012 series, I wasn’t the complete domestic Goddess, and bought the tiny Christmas baubles that were the place settings – but I did design the cards that attached to them! I also bought some giant plastic gems, which were scattered on the table too.

I stuck to my colour palette of turquoise, green, hot pink, purple that was used on our gorge Christmas tree to design the menu, which I tucked into under the cup and saucer at each place setting. One day, I’ll have a huge dining table so that we won’t have to cram us all around so much!

The side plate was filled with some Christmas treats – a candy cane and praline chocolate, as well as a homemade Christmas cracker each – which I shared how to make, last December.

And finally, because looking back at last year’s Christmas tree, I realise just how pretty it looks, I’ll re-share it!
