Orange & Yellow 40th Birthday Party – Decorations & Table Centerpieces

Onto the decorations and table centrepieces for the Orange & Yellow 40th Birthday Party I set up and styled recently.

The table centerpieces were bowls filled with orange, yellow and clear aqua gel beads. I love those things – so tiny when you buy them, but swell up with water – awesome! I then placed waterproof LED lights inside each bowl to give a glow when it got dark. As the birthday girl has hayfever, I couldn’t use real flowers, but found these pretty orange silk flowers to use instead. Each bowl had a standee inside with a ’40’ card insert.

Since I had soooo many gel beads left over, I was able to fill a huge vase with them…I added lights and flowers to make a display for the bar counter.

If you are a long time reader of my blog you may recognise this decoration from my husband’s 40th birthday last December – helium balloons with photos attached. It’s great for the person who’s birthday it is, as well as their friends and family to reminisce through photos of their life :)

Another decoration I made was giant tissue paper pompoms/rosettes in orange and yellow. They really are my go-to decoration for parties!

I created a simple banner to hang over the bar…

…and finally, instead of a guest book, I created a signing frame for guests to leave well wishes for the birthday girl :)
