The red light thing confused me for ages before we went the first time, now I realise just how logical it is, and wish we had something similar in the UK – but turning left of course!

Glad they could help Stephanie! I can only relate to my experience as a British driver, but the tips are probably the same for people from many other countries too! We’re at WDW in October too :D After the first couple of drives, I’m sure you will be fine! I don’t know what Aussie roads are like, but the roads in the US are a dream compared to the ones here in London!

I am more nervous about driving on the continent than in the US!

The turn right on red really through me off kilter before we went for the first time – I just couldn’t figure it out in my head!! We’re a family of 3, so it’s a bit easier for us to save up to get there. My best tip is to work out how much it will cost, and break it down into months – and aim to put away that each month – by selling stuff, earning a bit extra (ebay, bootsales etc) and blogging (if you earn money through your blog!). For a big family, a villa would be the best option, as they’re cheaper overall than a couple of hotel rooms, and you have your own kitchen so you can buy groceries in and have breakfasts and make lunches to take with you. I’m not the best on money saving tips as we really splurge on these holidays!! xx

The roads and layouts are all very different to here in the UK – once you get used to the directional signs, it becomes easier. That said, after lots of hours of driving out there, I still missed a couple of turn offs and had to go a long way around to get back on track!

I hear LA driving is horrific! Lots of traffic too. I’ve always found driving in Orlando to be pleasant, and no where near as many nutters as we have here in the UK! x
