My 21st Graze Box Review

Wow, I don’t write a graze box review for a loooooong time, then two come at once!

Graze has come a long way since I bought and reviewed my first box, way back in 2013. There are now over 100 tasty and healthy snacks available and 15 types of boxes (!) which are:

variety box • dips and dippers box • bakery box • kids box • jerky box • chocolate box • flapjack box • light box • protein box • sugar count box • pure box • savoury box • sustain box • aromatic broths box • popcorn box

Not only are all these box and snack options, but there is also the graze shop where you can buy multipacks of your favourite snacks, larger sharing bags of around 20 different snacks, as well as ingredients like dried fruits, seeds, and nuts to use in recipes at home (or make up your own snack combos!). I should also mention the cost of each box – back in 2013 they were £3.89, and 11 of the 15 boxes are still £3.89!

Graze Box Review

I had an email through to remind me that I had some special offers on my account, so I thought I best make use of them and get some graze goodies sent! I selected two variety boxes,  as I haven’t had any graze boxes recently, and wanted to see what new snacks were available. The clue is in the name of the box, which is described as: Maximum variety and the best way to explore all the snacks graze has to offer.

The website was shiny and new (to me at least, haven’t visited in a long time) and I had fun exploring the newer snacks, and using the raze rating system –  bin, try, like, love – to make sure I got snacks that I would enjoy. One feature I would love to see is the option to build a box with my favourites inside. I like buying a graze box for each of us to take on the journey to the airport when we go on holiday (it’s become a little tradition of ours!) and building our own boxes would guarantee we have our favourites.

I have to say though, in all the different snacks I’ve sampled from graze over the years, (this might be my 20th review, but I’ve bought lots more boxes in between!) I haven’t come across any “bad” ones. A few haven’t been to my personal tastes, so I’ve binned those ones so that I don’t receive them again. Speaking of their rating system, I’ve just gone to check my ratings, and I can sort the snacks by category, including ones I’ve never tried. I forgot to mention the send soon tick box, which you can select and hopefully receive that particular snack sooner rather than later. I think I’m going to go back through (when I’ve finished this post) and update my preferences!

Right, onto the snacks…

Protein Peanut Butter Dipper with Baked Hemp Sticks

150 Cals and Under | Source of Protein

Wholesome pure peanut butter dip, served with lightly salted hemp pretzel sticks

This peanut butter is in its purest form – just the peanuts  and nothing else. The natural oils may settle so give it a stir first! I love the little dipper pots that graze has, but I always run out of the dipper before I run out of the dip!

The 27g punnet is 136 calories.

Louisiana Wild Rice & Beans

150 Cals and Under | Source of Protein

A crunchy mix of wild rice sticks and chilli broad beans

The wild rice is found in the crunchy sticks, which are then mixed with broad beans flavoured with chilli. These had a nice kick to them. I really enjoy dried broad beans, so this was a winner for me.

The 30g punnet is 143 calories.

Original Protein Flapjack

Source of Protein | Fibre

Our classic rustic rolled oat flapjack, boosted with seeds and soy protein crispies

Whilst this flapjack is filled with all the good stuff including linseeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, as well as the protein filled soy crispies, the flavour side, for me, just wasn’t there.

The 50g punnet is 252 calories.

British Applewood Smoked Beef Jerky

with a Slow-Cooked Tomato Relish

Applewood smoked British beef jerky, served with a slow-cooked tomato relish

I remember when graze first introduced jerky to their range, and received it in one of my boxes. It was delicious then, and it is delicious now! The jerky is then marinated with apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, onion, garlic and cracked black pepper, before being smoked over aromatic applewood chips and slowly cooked to perfection. The jerky has a smoky sweet taste and pairs well with the tomato relish. Always a winner for me!

The 36g punnet is 91 calories.

Strawberries and Cream Protein Topper

150 Cals and Under | Source of Protein

Freeze-dried and yoghurt coated strawberry in an oat & barley granola with soy crispies

Freeze dried strawberries are my latest obsession. They don’t have as many calories as dried ones, and taste so yummy! I grazed (ha!) on this straight from the punnet, but it would go well on top of some yoghurt too.

The 39g punnet is 163 calories.

Super Kale & Edamame

Source of Protein | Health Star | Vitamins & Minerals

Crunchy edamame beans and kale crisps baked with chia & cashew butter

Another two snack favourites of mine. I do prefer fresh edamame, but the dry ones mixed with kale in this punnet make it one of those super food snacks. The kale is coated in chia seeds and cashew butter, then baked. This snack was satisfyingly crunchy and full of flavour.

This 24g punnet is 112 calories.

Poppy Seed & Onion Bagel

Source of Protein | Vitamins & Minerals

Cheese cashews, poppyseed & onion sesame sticks and roasted pumpkin seeds

This snack seems to have been discontinued as I can’t find it on the graze website. However, they do have a snack called New York Everything Bagel which is the little stick snacks on their own. This was another tasty combo with the crunchy sticks, the delicious cashews and the roasted pumpkin seeds. I don’t have the calorie details for this one.

Banana Protein Flapjack

Source of Protein | Fibre

Naturally banana-flavoured protein flapjack with rustic rolled oats and mixed seeds

Made the same way as the Original Protein Flapjack but with added banana flavour. Because of that added sweetness from the banana, these were much nicer than the original.

This 54g punnet is 250 calories.

The British Barbecue

150 Cals and Under | Source of Protein

Hickory smoked almonds, rosemary crostini, roasted pumpkin seeds and mini basil breadsticks

As well as the two variety boxes that I ordered, I also bought a multipack of this particular snack as it is one of my personal favourites. It combines some of my favourite flavours and ingredients. It’s a really moreish snack, and has such a variety of different things in it. The smoked almonds are amazing, and I really love the rosemary crostini – rosemary is my all-time favourite herb, so anything with that is a winner for me. I don’t think they do large sharing bags of this, but if they did, I would buy some up for a BBQ get together.

This 24g punnet is 127 calories.
