Day 12 – Cook, Craft, Create: December 2012

For day 12 of Cook, Craft, Create: December: 2012 I’ve got busy with some pretty paper and decoupaged a cardboard Christmas tree :D

This is such an easy craft, and you can go as simple or as wild as you like. I bought the cardboard tree from Hobbycraft, and they have so many different shaped cardboard models that you can buy and decorate to your hearts desire.

I’ve shown you a couple of times before how to decoupage, so I haven’t gone into great photo tutorial detail on this one I’m afraid – I was so busy watching The Shawshank Redemption on DVD whilst doing this, that I completely forgot!

I bought some pretty paper to use – I’d also bought some plain gold paper too, but didn’t like the way it looked with the patterned paper so just kept to one style. I just ripped pieces from the sheet and stuck them on with PVA glue, and then modge podged (yes! I can buy that in the UK now!) over the top to seal it off.

So here’s the blank cardboard tree model, and the first picture is the finished article. Finished in under an hour!

I’ve also got lots more Christmas Crafts for Adults for you to try out. Right-click and open a new tab to read next.
