Winter in Bedfords Park
Home » Photography »At the weekend we went on a lovely walk through our favourite Bedford’s Country Park to forage for pine cones (for Christmas decorations!), scrunch through the leaves and get some fresh air. As always, my camera is always in hand when we walk here, so here are some photos from that walk.
Most of the trees have now lost their leaves, but some are still holding on – I just love the copper tones of the leaves at this time of year.
Hubs and the boy haven’t been to the park for a while, so the wood sculptures were new to them. There are deer, leaves, a conker shell and a badger too – which I hadn’t noticed the last time I visited.
Hubs suggested that we collect pine cones to make some natural decorations for our evergreen tree at home, so we forage under the huge pine tree and found lots of them!
Despite it being winter, some flowers were still in bloom – I just love the rusty orange of this flower…
We also found some mushrooms as we padded our way through the forest – always a delight when we find those!
And finally, a little ladybird – one of the few insects I can get up close too without flinching!!
A few years ago we started a tradition of going for a walk in Bedford’s on Christmas morning whilst the turkey was cooking – can’t wait to do that again this year! Where do you go walking on Christmas day?

It’s such a fab thing to do – always something interesting to see when you go on walks!
