My sister turned 35 in December and we celebrated with a family get together at my parents house. My sister knew how busy I’d been of late and didn’t come to me to help out with decor or cake or food, which was weird, but a welcome chance to have some time off and just enjoy a party instead of organising it!
Dad took care of the food, and Maria had a cake made at a shop near her work. Dad is old school when it comes to catering, and the oldies are sometimes the best! He’s also a whizz with Greek-Cypriot dishes, so going home to my parents is a great time to eat some of our favourite foods!
I did take a few photos of the food and the birthday girl which I wanted to share on my blog…
Crudities, grilled peppers, tomato & onion salad, pickled beetroot
Stuffed vegetables, Greek salad, spanikopita (spinach & feta wrapped in filo), okra in tomato sauce, Cypriot meatballs
Fruit salad, lokmathes (honey dough balls), baklava
