The final dessert I made for my London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony Party were cake push-ups, which I turned into Olympic Torches! I have seen this type of dessert floating all over party blogs, and thought it was about time I had a go at it. I bought push-up containers from eBay, and to save time, pre-bought cake and frosting (which I coloured)

Next time I make these, I’ll layer up cake inside with frosting, but to make my Olympic Torches, I used the tube part as a cutter, and pressed it into the cake, leaving a space at the top for frosting Just underneath you can spy my orange/yellow frosting, but then I ended up mixing up the colours -___- so didn’t completely get the desired effect lol. It’s because I used ready-made frosting which is less stiff than my own home made buttercream.

I covered a box with red gift wrap, poked some holes in and decorated the box with some rings so that I could display the torches. Sorry for lack of step-by-step photos on this, as always I’m in a rush to get things ready, and just didn’t allow myself the time…super easy to make though!
