With 2 weeks until the London 2012 Olympic Games, I’ve started to decorate our home in support of Team GB. I’m not a great sports fan, but I do enjoy the Olympics – maybe because there are lots of different sports that you don’t often see on the TV! We did try to get tickets, but to no avail. It means we’ll be watching the games from the comfort of our living room, and I’m getting everything ready for our Olympic Games Opening Ceremony Party on 27th July.
I’m re-using things I bought/made for our Diamond Jubilee Big Lunch Party back in June, including the hand painted crockery that I made as well as the Union Jack flags we bought for the Royal Wedding in 2011! Even the rosettes that I made for that historic occasion, which I forgot to put up for the Jubilee!
We have a fold down table that stays in the hallway when not in use, so draped it with our Union Jack flag, and filled the vase with rosettes, and place some of my crockery either side. A couple of flags finished the set up.
Just around the corner of our hallway is a small cupboard, which I also decorated using flags, red, white and blue faux flowers and my boxes of English tea!
2012 has been a fine year to be British and I’m glad I’m able to use and re-use all my decorations!
Having got my craft on since writing this post, you can now find my freebie printables for Olympic food labels along with Olympic Cupcake Toppers. The Olympic Torch Relay also came to town, and we saw it not just once, but twice! What a great day :)
