London 2012 Olympics Favor Bags

For today’s ‘Make It’ Monday, I’ve put together some favour/favor bags for my guests. These work in two ways – one, as a little something for them to take home, and two, because the sweets/candy are individually packaged up, there is less temptation for me to pick at them. I’m back in the zone with my diet, and don’t want to spoil it – party or no party!!

You can put anything you like into your favor/favour bags. I chose Smarties, Peanut M&Ms and foil wrapped sports ball chocolates.

I stuck (as best I could!) to the Olympic Rings colours…red, yellow, blue, green and brown (instead of black) and separated the Smarties and M&Ms into these colours.
I had some Wilton clear party bags 4×9.5″ in my stash, so used those to house the sweeties. I also designed and printed off some tabs to add to the top to seal the top down with. I found the graphics online, and you can download and print your own tabs if you so wish. I wish I had such graphic design skill, but alas, I don’t! Just right click and save to your computer and print from a Word document. They should scale to the correct size.

I then started dividing the candy between the bags. One of each colour Smarties/M&Ms, and then some sports balls.
Once filled, I then laid the bag down onto the table to spread the sweets out, and press the air from the bag too. I folded the top down to meet the sweets once, and then folded down again. Next, having pre-folded the tabs, I stapled in place on each side.
These were really quick and easy to make, and a great thank you for party guests :)
